It's a matter of control and trust and moneybags weakens platforms with good intentions, It's most probaly why I think Mastodon will not be the next big thing in decentralized web. Threads will always be a walled garden and they can pay people to promote them. give them an inch and they will take the rest with every user on mastodon in their big data stack, users are better off owning their data being in control, as big tech without users can suck an egg.
